- Six Ghanaian technical universities with a combined enrolment of 24,000 students participated in a two-day workshop hosted by the Education Collaborative at Ashesi.
- The workshop is part of the Education Collaborative at Ashesi's Systems Change Program for Employability, which is focused on deepening African higher education's ability to make students more career ready.
- Ashesi University's Career Services team led the training, which was referred to the six institutions by the International Finance Cooperation (IFC) Vitae programme.

The six universities were the Kumasi Technical University, Tamale Technical University, Ho Technical University, Design and Technology Institute, Cape Coast Technical University, and Takoradi Technical University.
The Education Collaborative is an Ashesi-led initiative that supports African universities to achieve more substantial student outcomes. The programme has helped transform outcomes for 149,000 students over the past six years thanks to its inspired network of African higher education partners. The Systems Change Program for Employability is one of the initiatives through which the Collaborative helps enable higher education student outcomes.
"This workshop was eye-opening as it touched on important facets of building and running an effective career services program," shared Dr. Abigail Opong Tetteh, Assistant Head of the Design and Technology Institute. "It was very insightful and educative, encouraging us to accelerate our plans in setting up our career services department. Our management has already bought into the idea and is looking forward to positive outcomes for our students."
"Working with the institutional representatives to develop solutions for roll-out with their management teams was a worthwhile experience," said Abigail Welbeck, Director of Career Services at Ashesi. "I am very excited to see them lead this and pull everyone in their institutions along with them."
