This page will be updated periodically with guidelines for faculty, staff and other employees of the university. We also encourage that you pay close attention to emails at this time.

  • Remote work tools Open or Close
The University is deploying these main resources to support remote working. For data protection, we strongly discourage the use of other tools unless otherwise approved by the I.T Team.
    • Our Microsoft 365 Office Suite, already accessible and in use by teams on campus. Should you have questions about needed solutions not immediately recognised, please contact the Ashesi I.T Office.
    • Zoom, for teleconferencing and remote meetings. We have a university zoom platform, and registering with your Ashesi email address will automatically allow you access.
    • The University will work with various departments to ensure that internet connectivity needs are met.
  • Vaccinations & Testing Open or Close

We are asking all members of our community to be fully vaccinated before returning to campus from January 2022.

In a press update on Sunday, November 28th, the Ministry of Health also announced a vaccine mandate for all university staff and students prior to schools reopening in January 2022. In compliance with this mandate as well, all members of the Ashesi community will have to be fully vaccinated before January 2022.

  • Am I required to come to work? Open or Close

All staff and faculty will be returning to their original contractual work arrangements starting January of 2022. This means that all in-person team members will be expected to resume in-person work. Exceptions may be applied as per departmental dynamics and needs.

  • Guidance for Office Spaces Open or Close
    • Where possible, operate an open-door policy to prevent touching of doors and encourage open windows for increased ventilation.
    • Face masks are required for use by all persons in offices and on campus.
    • Observe physical distancing in waiting areas and in offices, re-arrange furniture where necessary to accommodate safe distances while meeting and visiting offices.

  • Service and Third-Party Staff Open or Close
    • Pre-entry screening and temperature check on arrival to campus and any other on campus site as designated.

    • Where necessary, prior notification will be given of service operations, repair & maintenance works that would involve entry into spaces occupied by community member(s).
    • Work to be undertaken will as much as possible be conducted within scheduled hours that limit the interaction between outsourced staff and community members.
    • Community members who will have to interact with outsourced staff as part of their duties will have to be in appropriate PPEs and adhere to physical distancing protocols.
    • Movement of workmen will as much as possible be restricted to work areas.
    • After the completion of works, work areas and spaces will be cleaned and disinfected.
