Biography
 


Dr. Josephine Djan is a lecturer in the Business Administration Department at Ashesi University. She currently has affiliations in the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the UK as well as the Ghana Chapter. Dr. Djan believes that learning involves deep understanding of theoretical concepts and practical creative models that are appropriate to the application of business opportunities and challenges. She sees every student to be unique and skillful in different ways.  

Teaching Statement 


To harness these skills in each student she knows to create a stimulating educational environment where they can access the right information to develop physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. One of her aspirations in teaching is to promote collaborative learning from one student to another through teamwork while developing their individual growth patterns. Her intent is to present a curriculum that will incorporate different learning styles as well as make the content relevant to students' lives and job aspirations which includes hands-on & cooperative learning, projects and individual work that engage and activate students learning. 


Research Statement


Dr. Djan’s research interests broadly cover the areas of marketing promotions, business management and environmental sustainability and education. Most of her current research focuses on the development and application of business models to provide new insights into how firms may address problems and search for innovative ways to improve their businesses in as much as they would want consumers to also delight in the provision of services and products. In her research,  Promoting Sustainability in Ghanaian Businesses», her aim is to address the need for firms to create awareness within and without their businesses to solve problems with real-world significance. She aspires to delve into more research on how to educate smaller businesses in sustainable practices.
