Two Ashesi students receive Meltwater Entrepreneurial School Of Technology (MEST) scholarship

Two Ashesi seniors, Augustus Arthur and Diana Akrong, emerged winners of the 2011/2012 academic year Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) scholarship.

MEST is an institution that provides training and mentoring for aspiring African software entrepreneurs with the goal of creating wealth and jobs locally in Africa. The scholarship scheme hopes to promote entrepreneurship and strengthen ties between the two institutions. The package will provide scholarships to cover half the cost of tuition at Ashesi and allow the recipients to liaise with MEST on entrepreneurship events and projects, participate in guest lectures at MEST and receive mentoring from MEST Senior Faculty as desired. As MEST Scholars, the students will be asked to encourage entrepreneurship at Ashesi and serve as a bridge for activities and information between Ashesi University and MEST.

Augustus and Diana are very happy about their new role as MEST Scholars and are willing to do their best to promote entrepreneurship on the Ashesi campus. Ashesi congratulates our two seniors for their achievement.
