Since our inception, a singular philosophy has driven Ashesi’s community: Africa’s future progress is inextricably linked to what is happening in African universities. College-educated Africans significantly influence the continent’s economic and social development. To safeguard Africa’s future, we must be intentional about educating the students who will inevitably become its leaders.

As we enter our third decade, informed by the lessons of leadership and innovation from recent global health crises and economic shifts, we have centered our strategic planning around the opportunities that Africa’s young people can harness for sustainable growth. By collaborating with stakeholders across business, the public sector, and academia, we identified six defining opportunities to guide our goals and the work to achieve them.
