Whistleblower Policy

Ashesi University is committed to educating ethical and entrepreneurial leaders, cultivating critical thinking skills and concern for others and the courage to transform the continent through its students. This commitment extends to all its employees, faculty, stakeholders, affiliations, third parties and interested associations. Ashesi is committed to operating in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and prohibits illegal or fraudulent practices by any of its board members, employees or volunteers.

All Ashesi employees must promptly report any illegal or fraudulent situation that the employee becomes aware of or has reason to believe may exist. The report may be submitted anonymously or not (at the discretion of the reporting employee) to either the President, the General Counsel or the Director of Human Resources. Ashesi will maintain the confidentiality of such reports to the extent feasible in view of its need to investigate and take applicable corrective action.

No Retaliation or Reprisals
No Ashesi employee or Executive Committee member may take any adverse action against an employee for reporting an incident. An adverse action is any action that would dissuade an employee from raising a concern about a possible violation or illegal activity. This could include threats, harassment or any discriminatory action against the terms and conditions of the person’s employment. If an employee has reason to believe that they have been subjected to retaliation, the employee must immediately report such matters to the Director of Human Resources.
