Please join the students, faculty and leadership of Ashesi University College on a memorable journey to Ghana. Tentative dates for the 2014 Annual Trip are September 6-13th.
Come see, first-hand, the New Africa that Ashesi is creating
We’ll visit Ashesi graduates at their workplaces, hear students present innovative projects, participate in discussions with Ashesi leadership – and witness an emerging Africa of optimism, ethical courage, and progress.
Ghana: A vibrant & friendly country – the birthplace of African independence
We will enjoy Ghana’s colorful culture, history, music and marketplaces – then walk at treetop level through a rainforest, visit a historic slave fort, visit the local people in a fishing community, and relax on the beach. We will be welcomed guests in Ghana, where Ghanaians are proud of their safe, stable, multiparty democracy.
The Ashesi community shares their dreams and accomplishments
What will Ashesi students and alumni show us? We’ll see innovative student projects that address local challenges. In previous years, we‘ve met with alumni at a start-up software company that is developing new payment and communications technologies for African businesses, and a non-profit that is providing technical knowledge and expertise in disadvantaged communities. We’ll discuss Ashesi’s future with Ashesi leadership and faculty, including with Dr. Patrick Awuah, Ashesi’s founder and president.
