Government
History
The Ashesi Student Council (ASC) was formed in 2004. The first leaders of the student government were elected, marking a significant milestone in Ashesi’s history.
This process included designing a constitution for student governance, led by student pioneers such as Seyram Ahiabor ’05, Daniel Ofori-Dankwa ’06, Patrick Quantson ’05, and Fatou Traore ’05. Over the years, ASC has become a cornerstone of campus life, from championing the adoption of the Honor Code, to establishing student services and traditions that have defined Ashesi’s culture. The history of the ASC has not been just about governance; it has also been about how students came together to build systems of trust, create meaningful traditions, and leave a legacy for future generations.
