As a Project Manager at Gold Fields Ghana Foundation, Sandra Deladem Woanyah M’28 leads community and infrastructure development projects across 12 host communities. Her work spans education, health, water and sanitation, roads, and cultural initiatives.
In Woanyah’s view, managing an infrastructure project extends beyond delivering a physical structure. It requires knowing the community, understanding its needs, and defining the tangible outcomes that should follow the project’s completion. This perspective was shaped by her career as a Chartered Architect, where she was trained to think critically about spaces, structures, and how people interact with their physical environments.
This growing understanding influenced her decision to enroll in the Ashesi Master of Business Administration program.
“I have seen the positive impact that one project can have on the lives of people,” she said. “Now I want to understand how we can create the conditions for that impact to happen on a much larger scale.”
Woanyah looks forward to “being part of a community that values collaborative learning while deepening her understanding of development through diverse experiences.”
On her expectations for the journey ahead, she remarked:
“The courage to make more difficult but impactful decisions, and better foresight to design and manage projects that create lasting opportunities for communities—these are what I hope to take away from my time at Ashesi.”
