On Thursday, 8th September 2011, a salsa night was organized and held in the party room. This was the first of its kind in the school community. The event was patronized by many students from the residence halls. The event started off at 7 pm with lessons by Diana Akrong (Class of 2012).
Diana started off the lessons by taking everyone through the basic salsa steps. There was fun and excitement as people picked up the routines. The music got better as the night went on; dancers paired up and tapped their feet to the rhythm.
There was solidarity in the party room as students came together to do the all-time favorite dance routine, the “electric slide”. All who were present had a break off academic activities and were able to socialize and relax.
In a chat with Diana, she stated that the next salsa night/ lesson would be held in due time. All students should endeavor to attend to have a great experience.
