It is always beneficial to be privy to useful information on campus and opportunities ahead of time. And who better to learn it from than recent grads? After four years at Ashesi, members of our graduating class are masters of navigating the Ashesi environment and seem to have all the coping strategies and solutions for different situations up their sleeve. This year’s graduating class of 2018 are definitely not leaving without sharing their two cents on college life at Ashesi with incoming and current students. So here’s to the newbies and the striving sophomores, juniors and seniors:
Try new things and always have an open mind! Take advantage of opportunities, they are limitless inside and outside Ashesi. See challenges as an opportunity to test yourself and grow. Make the right friends; friends that will love you, motivate you, correct you and are in line with your values. Most importantly, focus on you and find your purpose! Be selfish with your time and energy – Boma Eli
Life is made up of small moments, how you live these moments determines the quality of life you have. Plan your four years, take advantage of the great opportunities around you. Choose your friends wisely-they determine the memories you get to have of Ashesi. Have fun…chill! chill! chill! — Fiona Muithi
Although grades are important, you mustn’t entirely depend on them if you want to develop your skills and gain more opportunities. You should socialize a lot with friends, strangers and even your enemies. I also advise you to be open minded and accept every opportunity with confidence -Michael Ohene Boampong
Find a balance! A way to reward yourself after every impossible assignment or project! Dedicate one day in the week where you do something calming with your friends! Play uno, eat or something you all like! The friends you make are the friends you have for life. — Kingsley Amoaning- Yankson
