Housing &
Dining at Ashesi
Our residence halls offer single-gender rooms, organized coeducationally by floor or section. For continuing students, housing is allocated each year by lottery, with the option to choose roommates. First-year students are assigned rooms and roommates when they enroll, and are encouraged to live on campus to help ease their adjustment into life at Ashesi.
Suite-Style Residence Halls
Suites feature multiple occupancy room units, each with its own bathroom. Some have four students sharing a room, while others have two. Several include a shared common area.

Off-Campus Housing
While Ashesi continues to expand on-campus housing, there are several options near campus for students to explore. Check with the Student Affairs Office if you decide to choose off-campus housing and need guidance on available options.
Dining
Ashesi has three canteens on campus, with the largest located in the Hive, a community recreation space. With an open courtyard and multiple seating “huts,” the Hive can host over 500 people at once. Meals are served from 7 a.m. to midnight, and students can either pay as they go or sign up for a semester-long meal plan with tiered options.
There is a no-cooking policy in student rooms on campus, but each residence hall also has shared kitchenettes with kettles, microwaves, and fridges.
Meal Plans
To make it easier to manage meal costs, Ashesi also runs an optional meal plan system. Students can preload money onto their student cards and use it to pay for meals in the cafeterias. Meal plans are available at different cost levels, with options designed to cover three meals a day for a variety of budgets.
