New faculty members join the Ashesi team

Ashesi is pleased to welcome three new full-time faculty to campus this semester – Prof. Molara Yetunde Ogundipe, Ms. Astrid Larssen and Mr. Elvis Fefey. Prof. Molara Yetunde Ogundipe joins us from the University of Leeds, and is a specialist in English language and comparative literature. Prof. Ogundipe received her Ph.D. in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature from Leiden University in the Netherlands and has been teaching at the University level for over 20 years. Prof. Ogundipe has a passion for literature, especially African literature. She is excited to move back to Africa after many years of living abroad. Prof. Ogundipe will be teaching Expository Writing and African Literature and in addition, will head Ashesi’s Writing Centre.

Ms. Astrid Larssen has just returned to Ashesi after completing her dissertation research at University of Technology, Sydney in Australia where she is a Ph.D. candidate. Ms. Larssen’s area of specialty is Human Computer Interaction and her dissertation research focused on movement enabled technology interaction. Ms. Larssen will be teaching Human Computer Interaction at Ashesi and is a great addition to our Computer Science faculty.

Mr. Elvis Fefey holds a Masters of Science degree in Process Systems Engineering from the University of Dortmund in Germany and a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology. Mr. Fefey has a passion for mathematics and will be teaching statistics, pre-calculus and calculus as well as heading our Math Learning Centre. Mr. Fefey has taught as an adjunct lecturer for the past year and has become a student favourite. We are happy to have him join our faculty on a permanent basis.
