A Googler at heart: Nana Kwame Mensah ’15 named 2013/2014 Google Student Ambassador at Ashesi

Google has selected Ashesi student Nana Kwame Agyemang-Duah Mensah ‘15 to be part of its Google Student Ambassador team for the 2013/2014 academic year.

Launched in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2011, the student ambassador programme provides opportunities for students to act as a bridge between their campus and Google, and consists of students Google has met over the years through mutual passion for technology and innovation. The programme is one school year in length.
Nana Mensah ’15 named Google Student Ambassador at Ashesi“I love technology tools and how fun they are to use,” Nana Kwame adds. “I look forward to helping the Ashesi community understand how to use Google’s products to optimise work, and hope to serve in a Google way – doing cool things that matter.”

As a Student Ambassador, Nana Kwame will act as a campus contact for Google teams, and plan and host fun events for students on campus. He will also get hands-on learning about Google products and programmes, have opportunities to improve his leadership and communication skills, and be a part of a unique network of Google Ambassadors across the world.

Earlier this year, Nana Kwame participated in a 3-day Google Student Ambassador Summit in Kenya, where he received comprehensive training on Google technology, and got the opportunity to network with other ambassadors from other universities across Africa.

“I really loved the people I met at the summit, especially my friends from Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Ethopia, Senegal and Uganda. The people I met from these countries made my experience epic. They were fun and awesome people I miss and will never forget.”

The Google Student Ambassador programme allows active students to enhance their professional development and soft skills, to meet and collaborate with some of the most interesting people in the region, and to have fun introducing Google products to their fellow students through holding events on campus.
