From an early age, Moyinloluwa Afolabi Temitope ’29 was curious about how things worked. He loved dismantling and reassembling gadgets, a habit that gradually grew into a passion for engineering.
“I’ve always wanted to do something related to engineering because I liked taking things apart and putting them back together,” Temitope shared.
The idea of Ashesi first came to his family through an alumna of his A-level school, who is now a student at Ashesi. “She spoke with my mom and said she really liked the school, and that it was a great place. For her to be that enthusiastic, we thought it must be a really nice place,” Temitope recalled.
When it came time to choose a program, Ashesi’s Mechatronics Engineering degree stood out. “Mechanical engineering is more general, but mechatronics is a mix of mechanical and software engineering, which I like. It’s hands-on and connected to fields like aviation and aerospace, giving me a wide range of opportunities for the future.”
