Since 2009, the Rho Chapter in Seattle has been supporting scholarships for Ashesi students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds through the Florence Schenk Children’s Educational Opportunities Fund. The goal of a Rho Chapter scholarship is to support female students who will use their education to become a leader of change in their community.
Their support recently helped Sena Can-Tamakloe ’11 complete her education at Ashesi. “I am very grateful and most thankful to you for helping me realize my dream of finishing school and acquiring a degree from Ashesi University.” Sena plans to pursue her interest in becoming a fashion entrepreneur. “With all the education and the training, ten years from now I want to be operating a company that manufactures quality affordable clothing for the Ghanaian market and export to other countries as well.” A big thank you to the Rho Chapter for investing in Ashesi students.
