MSc. / MPhil.

Mechatronic Engineering

Our program is educating engineers who will not only innovate and strengthen African industry—especially in production and automation—but will also be able lead teams and organizations at the forefront of this work.

Delivered by Ashesi and ETH Zurich at our campus in Ghana – this master’s in Mechatronic Engineering program integrates core areas of automation and production engineering while including modules from decision-making, economics, and management to help students build strong Engineering careers.

The program was developed with industry partners ABB, Barry Callebaut, Bühler, HPW, Holcim, Nestlé, and Tetra Pak, who are helping provide scholarships and career opportunities for students. Students will learn from and collaborate with leading faculty from both Ashesi University and ETH Zurich, at our beautiful campus in Ghana.

The program is also generously supported by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO, in addition to several private donors and foundations.

Engineering Automation Through Hands-On Learning

Stories

Drawn by the global–local mix of the Ashesi–ETH program, Lily built her thesis around electrifying Ashesi’s shuttle fleet. As a Battery Management Technician at ARC Ride Global, she now supports the electric motorcycles and battery-swapping networks behind Africa’s electric-mobility ecosystem

“We will be with you every step of the way” — the line that brought Essel to Ashesi held true across seven years and two degrees. From a SCADA control room to ETH’s Risk and Reliability Lab, his research uses machine learning and weather data to predict power-system failures.
