Ashesi University is situated in Berekuso, a peri-urban community in Ghana. In October 2024, some students of Ashesi partnered with the Berekuso Community Health Center to run a campaign against breast cancer, encouraging women to do testing. Although it is unknown how many women actually conducted the testing, the female population in Berekuso was a minimum of 1,000.
Additionally, Ashesi students were sponsored to train hundreds of basic and senior high school students in math, literacy and computing in various regions: Aburi and Berekuso, Eastern Region; Haatso and Kwabenya, Greater Accra Region; Kasoa, Central Region and Yamfo, Ahafo Regions. Ashesi students provided calculators, stationery, etc.
