To mark the opening of Ashesi’s new sports centre, the Ashesi Student Council held a series of games and activities on camps this past weekend. The tournament featured games between Ashesi’s men’s football team and the Multimedia Group men’s football team, and Ashesi’s women’s team versus the Nimobi Warriors (a combined women’s team from Nima and Mamobi). The men won their tournament by a goal, while the women lost by the same tally.

More and more students at Ashesi have taken to sports on campus, with students having thriving football and basketball leagues. The creation of a sports centre on campus brings a lot more life these activities. So for many who turned up to watch the tournament, it was a long awaited day.

This sports centre will give room for more students to enjoy sports on campus,” shared Samuel Fordjour, Sports Chairperson at Ashesi.
