Sullaiman Alhassan

Full-time Faculty, Engineering

Sullaiman Alhassan is a mechanical engineer with a specialty in Thermal-fluids and energy systems engineering, with a focus on sustainable energy solutions. I had my undergraduate and master’s program at KNUST, Ghana and currently working with Ashesi University as a faculty member. I am a member of the International Association of Engineers (IAENG).

  • Currently, I am working on design optimization of Insulated Solar Electric Cookers (ISECooker), technical assessment of using syn-gas from biomass wastes in internal combustion engines for sustainable transportation in Ghana, a study to evaluate the impact of train-induced noise and vibration in urban areas of Ghana, with a focus on planning and developing future urban rail systems and a SoTL project to develop a collaborative educational system for engineering courses that integrates projects across multiple subjects, allowing students to apply skills learned in various courses to a single, comprehensive semester/year project. I am keenly interested in sharing my knowledge and experiences and providing sustainable engineering solutions to societal challenges. Research grants and awards include the following:
  • Title of Proposal: study to evaluate the impact of train-induced noise and vibration in urban areas of Ghana, with a focus on planning and developing future urban rail systems. Amount: $ 20,000.00
  • Title of Proposal: study to develop a collaborative educational system for engineering courses that integrates projects across multiple subjects, allowing students to apply skills learned in various courses to a single, comprehensive project. Amount: $ 20,000.00
