Samuel Darko

Adjunct: Business Administration

Samuel Darko has 15+ years’ experience as an entrepreneur and business leader. He is passionate about entrepreneurship education that helps students connect the dots between key entrepreneurship (and business) principles and practice. Beyond teaching, Samuel coaches entrepreneurs in the Ashesi Venture Incubator and supervises theses of undergraduate students. His research interests include building a culture of customer-centricity; leveraging digital tools and data to maximise marketing and sales outcomes; exploring models to de-risk early-stage ventures in Africa to unlock local capital; and gamifying entrepreneurship education. Away from Ashesi, Samuel is Managing Director for Global Business Services at SAND. Before this, he was a Vice-President at Genpact and a director on the founding team of the African Leadership University (ALU). He is an angel investor and advisor to a number of startups. Samuel has an MBA from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford and a bachelor’s degree from KNUST. He also holds a Certificate in Entrepreneurship Strategy from Wharton, University of Pennsylvania, and was a member of the inaugural cohort at MEST Africa. Samuel loves audiobooks, is taking lessons for a private pilot’s license, and does community service through his membership of Rotary International and others.
