Rebecca Awuah (PhD)

Full-time Faculty, Computer Science & Information Systems

I am a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at Ashesi University. My teaching areas are core mathematics, statistics, and Giving Voice to Values. My research and work outside the classroom focus on curriculum development, mathematics pedagogy, ethics education, and survey research. In my teaching, I endeavor to design learning experiences that engage participants in constructing their understanding, connect concepts and ideas to the real world, and create “aha moments” that represent significant learning. I draw on research in cognitive science and the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) to organize learning activities, regular practice, and authentic assessment that support all students in building their confidence and motivation for deep learning.
