Kweku Attakora Dwomoh
Full-time Faculty – Law, Humanities & Social Sciences
I am an International Commercial, Trade and Investment expert and a lecturer. I am also an author, a researcher and a consultant. I co-authored the first-of-its-kind book on the Sale of Goods in Africa, which LexisNexis published. I was one of the Government of Ghana’s expert consultants to the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat in 2020 to provide legal and dispute settlement support to the secretariat. I served in the role of an interim head of the dispute settlement division to oversee and ensure that the dispute settlement body of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement is operationalized and functional. In 2020, I was appointed as a consultant on a government of Ghana Project on the Rolling Review of Electronic Registry of Business-Related Laws and Regulations regarding the Industrial Transformation Programme project. I also served as a lecturer at the UPSA Law School for four years, teaching international trade and investment law, equity and succession and legal aspects of business. I was also the principal consultant on the most educative Point of Law series and the moot court coordinator.
As a lecturer, my teaching philosophy is rooted in ensuring that my students obtain a deeper understanding of legal principles through critical thinking and active engagement and that students obtain a real-world understanding and application of the principles. I also subscribe to creating a dynamic and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to question, analyze, and challenge established norms, developing the skills necessary to become thoughtful and effective legal practitioners. I am committed to mentoring and inspiring students, guiding them to achieve academic excellence, and preparing them for the legal profession with integrity and professionalism.
