Kwabena Bamfo
Full-time: Artificial Intelligence
Kwabena A. Bamfo teaches and mentors students in areas including Introduction to Computing and Information Systems, Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Ashesi University, a liberal arts university in Ghana, and a master’s degree in the Internet of Things from the University of Franche-Comté and the University of Technology of Belfort-Montbéliard, a Grande École of engineering in eastern France. His scholarly interests are anchored in two key areas: advancing computing education, particularly within African contexts, and exploring the application of artificial intelligence to solve local, regional, and international challenges. Kwabena is a passionate advocate for active learning, especially through problem-based learning, which is an instructional approach that uses complex, real-world problems to foster deep conceptual understanding and student engagement, rather than relying solely on the direct transmission of facts.
