Etornam Awoye ‘25

Etornam Awoye, or “Teezy” as he’s popularly called, is a third-year Business Administration student with a passion and drive for money and how it’s employed efficaciously. Simply put, his passion lies in orchestrating sound financial strategies that empower the institution to thrive, which he has done countless times, demonstrating his capabilities across diverse communities including those dedicated to sports, external event planning, as well as outreach and humanitarian relief. All these have left indelible marks and utmost satisfaction for students, faculty, the entire academic community as well as external parties.

Etornam has held a variety of student government positions in all steps of his academic journey, including the Vice President of the Sports Committee, Financial Advisor of the Drama Club, and the Grounds Prefect back in High School. In Ashesi’s service, he has worked as a Judicial Executive Council Representative, a Basketball Representative on the Sports Committee, a Calculus Tutor, and a Buddy Coach alongside many other volunteer work.

Infused with a welcoming spirit and a strong commitment to values like loyalty and friendship, Etornam ensures that everyone feels embraced in any setting. Actively engaging in sporting endeavors within the Ashesi community, he passionately participates in basketball, football, and volleyball. Etornam, driven by his enthusiasm for finance and assisting others, seeks to channel his efforts toward benefiting those around him.

In the words of the late Kobe Bryant, “The Mamba Mentality is about being a better version of yourself every day.” Etornam embraces this mindset as he navigates his role as the Finance Committee Co-chairperson, aspiring to contribute positively to the well-being of the Ashesi community through his financial expertise and dedication to continual improvement.
