Esi Ansah (PhD)
Executive Director of the Center for Executive Education
Dr. Ansah first joined Ashesi in 2008 as a full-time lecturer after completing her Ph.D. at Rutgers University. She has more than 18 years of experience teaching courses in leadership, human resources, organizational behavior, and negotiations.
In 2017, she transitioned into an adjunct lecturer role to dedicate more time to two organizations she founded: Axis Human Capital, a human resources consulting firm, and the Association of Ghana’s Elders (AGE), an organization that supports aging with dignity. As an adjunct lecturer, she continued teaching undergraduate students at Ashesi, led employee management training, contributed to the design of a pilot executive education program, and served as a facilitator in a public health program run in partnership with the World Health Organization.
Founding and leading Axis and AGE has given Dr. Ansah extensive experience in start-up development, as well as operational and strategic oversight of institutions. Her work with Axis clients has also deepened her understanding of corporate Ghana across a range of industries; and through her work with senior citizens, she has discovered the value of intergenerational learning.
Dr. Ansah holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Rutgers University; an M.S. in Public Service Management from DePaul University; an M.A. in Social Science from the University of Chicago; and three B.A. degrees in Psychology, International Affairs, and French from Florida State University. She is a certified International Coaching Federation (ICF) Coach and a licensed Insights® Discovery practitioner.
