Desmond Adusah

Adjunct: Design Thinking

Desmond Adusah holds a Master of Design (MDes) in Design Thinking from Cranfield University, UK, and is a certified Service Designer from the University of the Arts London. He currently teaches Foundations of Design and Entrepreneurship at Ashesi University and also lectures in entrepreneurship, innovation, and design at Academic City University and Central University. His academic and professional work sits at the intersection of design thinking, entrepreneurship, innovation, and human-centred problem solving, with a particular interest in helping students translate ideas into practical solutions for real-world challenges. Beyond the classroom, Desmond has worked as a facilitator, trainer, mentor, and consultant across entrepreneurship and innovation programmes involving organisations such as UNICEF Startup Lab, YALI Regional Leadership Center West Africa, MEST Africa, the Hult Prize Foundation, and Design Thinking Ghana Hub. He is also the founder of Luminate Career Services, an education and career guidance venture focused on helping young people make more informed academic and career decisions. His teaching philosophy emphasises experiential learning, exploration, collaboration, reflection, and learning through doing, with students encouraged to engage directly with problems, users, industries, and communities rather than treating entrepreneurship and design as purely theoretical disciplines.
