Charles Adjetey

Full-time: Computer Science

Charles is an adept problem-solver with outstanding interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills and leadership experience. He can understand students regarding teaching and learning and get the best learning outcomes. Before joining Ashesi University, he taught in the Computer Science Department of Lancaster University (Ghana Campus) and Valley View University. He started as a teaching assistant and gradually rose to the lecturer ranks. Charles has taught several courses in undergraduate programmes in BSc. Computer Science, BSc. Information Technology, and B.Ed. Information Technology. Computer Programming, System Analysis and Design, and Networking and Operating Systems are his forte.

He considers himself, first and foremost, a teacher. He sees teaching as both a privilege and a colossal responsibility, as a profession with enormous potential to influence many lives and shape future generations. He loves teaching because he believes he can positively affect students’ lives for a lifetime. His general teaching focus at the university level is to promote learning by engaging students in their learning environment, promoting higher-order thinking skills and respecting their opinions and backgrounds.

Charles holds an MPhil. Computer Science from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, BSc Computer Science from Valley View University and Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) from Lancaster University, UK.
