Dr. Esi Ansah, Executive Director of Ashesi’s Center for Leadership, has been appointed by the President of Ghana to serve on a newly established Constitution Review Committee. The eight-member committee was sworn in on January 30, 2025, with a mandate to assess challenges in previous constitutional review implementation processes, and propose actionable recommendations to strengthen Ghana’s democratic governance.
The committee is chaired by Prof. H. Kwasi Prempeh, a former Ashesi University Board Director and Professor of Law, who currently serves as Executive Director of the Centre for Democratic Development Ghana (CDD-Ghana).
“The task before you is critical,” said President Mahama during the swearing-in ceremony. “You are helping to shape the future of our dear nation, Ghana. Your mandate is to carefully examine past recommendations, identify necessary changes, and create a clear roadmap toward meaningful constitutional amendments.”
