Ashesi promotes a pledge toward 100% renewable energy and sustainability in several ways among its university community. It has integrated into each core academic course offering over the entire 4-year degree an authentic aspect of renewable energy or sustainability. Ashesi believes that repetitive instruction in all classes on green living has a high probability of forming part of each student’s habit of mind. Ashesi also models on its campus the use of renewable energy as a preferred approach to living. This second implicit curriculum is also designed to get students to pledge to advocate and exemplify for themselves and others. Ashesi also has a policy on renewable energy use on campus. See here.
