Economics Program

Ashesi’s Economics program prepares students for such impactful careers in Africa’s private, public, non-profit, and non-governmental sectors. The programme is also an excellent foundation for advanced study in Economics, Finance or Business.

Africa needs good economists and sound economic policy thinking. The continent will be the world’s most populous in a generation. There is an opportunity for the continent’s economies to leverage this for growth. To achieve this, ethical, well-rounded, and competent economists are needed in government and business in Sub-Saharan Africa to improve the quality of decision-making and implementation of action plans. Ashesi’s Economics program prepares such economists for the continent.
