MATH233 Quantitative Methods
This course will survey quantitative approaches to work in the business world. The course introduces students to concepts, techniques and software with which all successful managers should be familiar. The course has three main components: operation research/management science, project management, and statistics. The course is hands-on, using spreadsheet techniques with minimal reference to complex or abstract mathematics and the R software.
The statistical tests will be useful in nearly any senior project work and any significant quantitative decision-making in a business context. Students will develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills and become proficient at applying Operational Research/Management Science techniques, and construct models to inform business decisions.
