Language for Law II
Language is the primary tool of a lawyer. Mastery of it is indispensable to the success of a would-be lawyer. This course provides a thorough refresher on rules of English grammar and punctuation. It also offers students an opportunity to build up their vocabulary and learn to avoid some of the errors most commonly found in Ghanaian speech and writing. Taken in the summer, this class is an online pass/fail grammar course that is prerequisite for Law students.
- Colloquial and formal registers- when to use which.
- Constructing the comparative form of adjectives
- Common vocabulary mistakes
- Verbs commonly misused (borrow, remember, etc)
- Prepositions- to at, in, and on
- Some commonly misassigned prepositions- eg discuss about/on, relate on, aspire for, ponder about etc
- Prerequisites: Language for Law I
