LLB428 Jurisprudence
As an introduction to the subject of legal thought, the course will focus primarily on equipping students with requisite skills to aid their understanding of the philosophy of law by navigating the epistemology of law. Through a combination of theoretical inquiry and practical application, the course aims to cultivate critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and a holistic appreciation for the complexities of law
The course aims to develop the following in students:
- Critical Thinking Skills: Develop students’ ability to analyze legal concepts and arguments critically, fostering a deeper understanding of the reasoning behind legal decisions
- Ethical Awareness: Enable students gain insights into the moral and ethical dimensions of law, aiding them to navigate complex ethical dilemmas within the legal framework
- Legal Theory Comprehension: Equip students with a decent understanding of various legal theories and jurisprudential perspectives, providing a solid foundation for interpreting and evaluating legal principles
