International Trade & Policy
The course is designed to introduce students to the main concepts and methods of international trade using applications drawn from the real world. Throughout the course, we would convey the major ideas that have emerged from recent research while emphasizing the continued importance of the old theories. Throughout this course, the objective is to guide students to understand how the evolution of international economic theory has helped shape our understanding of a rapidly changing global economy. The course also focuses on how we can use the knowledge about international trade to contribute to the on-going debate about trade protection, free trade, regionalism and trade preferences among other issues.
