LLB427 Company Law
This course delves into the law regarding conducting business and other economic activity through the special purpose vehicle of a company. Students will be introduced to key legal concepts and statutory framework on the special legal status of companies, their distinctiveness from the founders and shareholders, as well as the legal relationships that arise in the conduct of business including corporate governance, shareholder rights, directors’ duties among others
At the end of this course, students will:
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the legal framework governing companies.
- Analyse and evaluate legal issues and challenges related to corporate governance.
- Apply company law principles to real-world scenarios and case studies.
- Develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and legal research skills relevant to company law
