Ashesi welcomes September Intake of the Class of 2030

Ashesi University has welcomed 270 students into Cohort A of the Class of 2030 for undergraduate study.

The cohort comprises 138 men and 132 women, representing an almost even gender balance, with men making up 51% and women 49% of the class.
The class is also diverse in nationality. Forty-three students, representing 16% of the cohort, are international students from 16 countries: Benin, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, the United Kingdom, the United States, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. With Ghana included, the cohort represents 17 countries.

For students joining Ashesi from different countries and backgrounds, the diversity of the cohort will shape their experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
“I am excited about being part of a community where I will meet people from different countries and backgrounds,” said Atsedmaryam Sendek ’30. “I know that learning from each other will be just as important as what we learn in the classroom.”
The 270 students are enrolled across 10 undergraduate programs, bringing together students with interests spanning business, law, computing, economics, and engineering.

The cohort also reflects a range of experiences and backgrounds, including four internally displaced students and one student with a disability.
Beyond the statistics, students are arriving at Ashesi with different hopes for their university experience.

“I was really excited when I found out I had been admitted. Now that I am here, I am looking forward to making the most of every opportunity at Ashesi,” said Jonina Asamoah ’30.
