BSc. Biological Engineering
This undergraduate program – building on several years of bioengineering research and teaching at Ashesi – educates engineering leaders for the emerging bioeconomy in Ghana and in Africa. While other programs focus primarily on the biomedical sector, Ashesi’s program prepares you to be a versatile biological engineer capable of working across a spectrum of fields—including biotechnology, bioinformatics, neuro-engineering, in addition to biomedical spaces.
Program Structure
The program shares the same multidisciplinary core curriculum with other Ashesi majors, and incorporates courses from electrical, mechanical, and computer engineering, alongside unique biological engineering courses and electives. The final year capstone project for this program includes a research component, with close guidance from faculty on the science and art of research.
