The Ashesi Center for Entrepreneurship officially welcomed the sixth cohort of the Ashesi Venture Incubator. This year’s cohort of twenty ventures, selected from fifty-four applications, operate across industries including agriculture, financial services, technology, health and fitness, food and beverages, and e-commerce.
The Ashesi Venture Incubator blends a practical, stage-appropriate curriculum and experience needed to build and grow investor-ready ventures. Startups founded by Ashesi alumni or that have Ashesi alumni serving in executive leadership roles may qualify to participate.
Ventures in the incubator also get guidance and coaching from seasoned entrepreneurs and business leaders who work with the Center as coaches.
Patrick Awuah, in addressing the new cohort during a welcome mixer, emphasized the university’s dedication to providing the enabling environment for alumni ventures, noting that their success would contribute to the building momentum of the Incubator’s impact.
Jessica Boifio, Assistant Director of the Center, also expressed confidence in the potential of this year’s participants and highlighted the tailored support and resources available to meet the unique needs of each venture.
This year’s cohort is the Incubator’s most diverse, with founders representing Ashesi’s earliest graduating classes of 2005 and 2006 to more recent classes of 2023 and 2024. The entrepreneurs shared stories that reflected their passion and determination to grow and contribute significantly to their various industries. Over the coming weeks, they will engage with the structured program designed to facilitate their entrepreneurial success.
Since 2018, the Ashesi Centre for Entrepreneurship has supported sixty-five Ashesi alumni startups in partnership with different ecosystem partners within Ashesi.
