Ashesi University Joins the Babson Collaborative for Entrepreneurship Education

Ashesi University has joined the Babson Collaborative for Entrepreneurship Education, which brings together leading universities redefining how entrepreneurship is taught and practiced. With more than 40 universities from 30 countries represented, the Collaborative provides a dynamic platform for sharing best practices, facilitating student and faculty collaboration, and promoting innovative approaches to teaching and research. Ashesi is the first Sub-Saharan African University to join the Collaborative.

Membership will allow Ashesi students to engage in international challenges, cross-border projects, and peer-to-peer learning opportunities. Faculty and staff will benefit from joint research initiatives, curriculum design support, and professional development programs. The network also expands opportunities for mentorship, thought leadership, and the exchange of ideas that can strengthen Ashesi’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

“The Collaborative brings together institutions committed to advancing entrepreneurship education globally,” explains Jessica Boifio, Associate Director of the Ashesi Center for Entrepreneurship. “Our faculty will gain new teaching insights, our students will broaden their perspectives through global exposure, and Ashesi will contribute African perspectives often missing in global frameworks. It affirms that we are moving in the right direction.”

The Ashesi Center for Entrepreneurship is a hub for advancing entrepreneurship at Ashesi University. The hub empowers students and alumni to transform ideas into ventures that drive sustainable impact. Beyond business creation, the Center focuses on problem-solving and opportunity-building through training, mentorship, incubation, and access to networks and resources.

“This partnership with the Babson Collaborative deepens how we teach entrepreneurship in and outside the classroom and supports how it is practiced,” Boifio added.
