On August 19, 1999, Ashesi University Foundation was incorporated as a nonprofit corporation in the state of Washington. In order to register, we were required to establish our Board of Trustees and write up our Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws. Ashesi University Foundation will eventually sponsor an organization in Ghana which will manage the operations of the university. The US-based foundation is undertaking all strategic planning, curriculum design, fundraising, and recruiting. There are two fulltime employees at the foundation; for the time being, we are not planning to grow any larger.
