Introducing Ashesi’s Law with Public Policy Program
Ashesi has received approval from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and the Ghana General Legal Council (GLC) to begin a new Bachelor of Laws with Public Policy (LLB) program. The program equips students with the tools needed to navigate complex legal and policy challenges in Ghana and beyond.
“I see this as an opportunity to set a new course for legal education in Ghana.”
Albert Agyepong, a lawyer and Ashesi faculty member with credentials from GIMPA, Gambia Law School, and Harvard, has been looking forward to welcoming Ashesi’s first law students. Qualified to practice in the Gambia, Ghana, and New York, Agyepong’s own journey to law was filled with decisions similar to those he now helps students navigate in and beyond his classes.
“I am excited about starting this journey with Ashesi University.”
With experience in teaching Energy Law, Law and Accountable Institutions, and Contract and Company law, Afia Amponsah-Mensah brings hopes to help students see how law education is empowering. Her research interests are Oil and Gas Law, Energy Transition & Climate Change, Constitutional Law and Democratic Governance and Financial Regulation.
