The 2025 Ashesi Innovation Experience (AIX)

AIX is designed to provide a holistic learning experience for high school students. The two-week program enables attendees to experience university-level work, and gain stronger understanding of the pathways available to them after high school. In the first week, all participants complete foundational modules in Leadership and Design Thinking, gaining critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. In week two, students pursue specialized tracks—in Engineering, Robotics, Entrepreneurship, or Creative Arts—building on week one’s foundation while exploring personal interests.

“AIX wasn’t just a camp where we learned how to live and learn; it also opened our eyes wider to who we are as people.”

Bubune Onokwarefo Swatson-Akpedonur, a participant in the Creative Arts Module, shares her experiences at the 2025 AIX experience.

This year, participants came from diverse backgrounds, representing 9 of Ghana’s 16 regions, and with nearly 10% of the cohort joining from the North America and Europe.

“I had no idea these two weeks would spark a whirlwind of personal growth and unforgettable insights.”

Joel Ahiakpor, who joined this year’s AIX from Tema International School, reflects on its impact.

Each day at AIX 2025 was filled with learning and discovery, allowing participants to gain new perspectives, build meaningful friendships, and challenge themselves through hands-on projects, team activities, and real-world problem-solving.

AIX Through the Years

Launched in 2014, the Ashesi Innovation Experience (AIX) has been a two-week intensive enrichment program for high school students aged 15–19. Designed by Ashesi faculty, AIX equips participants with foundational skills in design thinking, problem-solving, leadership, teamwork, and communication.
