Ashesi Welcomes Cohort A of the Class of 2029

Ashesi University has welcomed Cohort A of the Class of 2029, bringing together 245 students from 22 countries. With 32% being non-Ghanaian students, this affirms Ashesi’s goal to support stronger pan-Africanism and cultural awareness within the Ashesi community.

With a focus on broadening inclusive access at Ashesi, the class comprises 117 women and 128 men, maintaining a nearly even gender balance, with 2% of the class being persons with disabilities. Overall, 47% of the class received various forms of financial support, removing barriers for students and families who presented financial constraints. 33% of students in Cohort A of the Class of 2029 are paying zero in attendance costs, with scholarships covering tuition, housing, meals, and stipends.

Ashesi expanded its academic offerings this year by introducing Biological Engineering as the University’s latest undergraduate program. The new program aims to establish a pipeline of talent to support Africa’s emerging science and healthcare research infrastructure.

For the students of Cohort A, this moment marks the beginning of a journey filled with learning, discovery, and leadership.
