Visa and immigration
Incoming international students need a student visa to study in Ghana. The OIP facilitates the visa acquisition process for both incoming and outgoing Ashesi students. Incoming students should apply for a visa at the Ghana Embassy/ High Commission in their country.
Ashesi Students who want to embark on study abroad should contact the OIP upon acceptance into a study abroad program to begin the visa application process. It is advised that students begin their visa application processes ahead of time to avoid delays in reporting to their universities abroad. Incoming international students are taken through various orientation sessions upon arrival to equip them with useful skills and knowledge to help them deal with the challenges of living and learning in a developing country.
Support to International Students Association
We value the enriching perspectives that international students bring to the classroom and community. Consequently, international students are encouraged to share their culture and actively contribute to our community through various platforms. The OIP assists the international students association at Ashesi to plan and execute various projects and activities aimed at enriching student life by tapping into Ashesi’s culturally diverse community.
